Yes,
I celebrated the day by being a woman… I did sleep in which meant the normal
rush was done at 100mph as I fed everyone breakfast, made lunches and grabbed
myself some instant oatmeal for my own lunch.
Thankfully the grade 6 teacher was having a potluck in her room so those
kids fed me well.
I
then continued my successes by successfully completely squashing the biggest
girl in the school (like 6 foot tall, stalky grade 6 girl basketball player) by
asking if she studied for her French exam.
Upon her telling twirling her hair and looking at me as if I was crazy… I
went on and on and on… then told her her mark… 1/25… like lowest mark ever…
like, worth calling your mother… like, maybe kicking off basketball team. DEFLATE… she comes back to me the size of a
peanut… WHAT DID YOU MEAN ABOUT BASKETBALL… I meant that SCHOOL COMES
FIRST. Ya… she gave me the, “well, kick
me off the team then” attitude as she stormed out of the school.
Then….
I tutored a kid in my class until 4pm for our math test tomorrow… as I do every
Thursday night and it’s exciting stuff.
I
also managed to complete all my report card comments but have not figured out
ANY marks as of yet, much less entered them into the computer, the spreadsheet,
nor their actual report card. That’s to
be done for tomorrow. Umm… sure.
THEN…
I continued my exciting celebrations… YES… I drove my beautiful children home…
upon our arrival, I had the wonderful privilege of watching my children scour
through the pantry on the hunt for food.
During this rampage, I managed to practice Violin and Viola with the
elder 2. It was even fairly painless…. A
definite blessing…a gift, you could say.
The
most exciting part of my evening was making supper… we did wait until later to
eat as I thought my dear husband might be home to celebrate me today. However, sharpening skates took precedence,
as did some problems at the office. So… we ate our veggie filled scrambled eggs
and strawberries alone.
After
cleaning up that disaster and starting the dishwasher that was already 99%
full, which means that there are still dishes in the sink, because I certainly
wasn’t going to WASH dishes on Woman’s Day!!!
Maybe that’s how my dear man celebrated… I mean gifted to me… as I have
not yet been back downstairs to check.
You see, it’s now after 7pm… my children are all showering with the dishwasher running. It’s a great tactic actually because the hot water doesn’t last as long that way. They were excited to finally see dad arrive home which meant books and bed. I was allowed to read to Mia and hear her read to me. I then laid in bed while they all attempted to fall asleep.
I
did talk to my mother and my aunt tonight so that was special in itself. I did
however, forget to wish them Happy Woman’s Day.
Now
the house is peaceful, the man is off to hockey, and I guess I’ll go to bed
alone… with my book… the first in the trilogy… THE HUNGER GAMES J
