In Wyatt's 3 years of life he has accomplished 2 things (probably more!) that I haven't, and am thankful for! A broken arm, and now, stitches!!!
I convinced Glen on Saturday morning to take Mia to her violin lesson... a task he usually doesn't enjoy and has told me numerous times that he's not doing it again!!! However, he obliged like a kind, dear, sweet man would!!! I promised him a nap later in the day! :-) So he got up with the kids and grabbed them a frozen yogurt tube. Wyatt was some upset with his dad as Glen was cutting them open with a knife, and Wyatt was telling Glen, "NO! Use scissors!!!" Glen couldn't find any so just used the knife, and off Glen and Mia went to violin.
Mom... well, she was sleeping in! Soon I hear some crying, but nothing too urgent! I leave it awhile... then I decide after hearing the freezer opening etc, that he's probably trying to open a yogurt tube and has cut himself... I best go check it out!
So downstairs I trot... blood and papertowel everywhere!!! Poor kid! He sliced his knuckle with a sharp knife... he was trying to clean it up himself but it wasn't workign! Of course, there are no band-aids in the house... so we get pressure on it, and I remember that Glen has a first aid kit in his car... so we gauze and band-aid him up.
Once Glen and Mia arrived home, I took him in to the medicentre... wasn't going to sit in an emergency room. So... they took him in straight away, gave him 2 needles right into the open wound to freeze... all that for 1 stitch!!! The doc wasn't even sure if she would freeze him, but she did. Wyatt was very intrigued with it all... watching the doctor's every move and he didn't even cry! He gasped at the needles and that was it! Brave lil boy!!!
He's quite proud of his battle wound! Thankfully it seems he didn't get the tendon, which the doctor was worried about! Could've been so much worse. Poor Glen is blaming himself as he should've listened to Wyatt that morning! Cute! Probably would've happened regardless!
