In the last month a lot has happened, you could say! Most significantly is the birth of #3, Natalie Ruth.. weighing in at 7lbs 4oz and measuring 20.5 inches, she is a blond beauty that entered this cold world on December 3rd. It was a stormy week-end... we even got stuck on the way home from the hospital!!!
I was sure glad to have mom and dad come visit for 10 days, a week after Natalie was born. I always feel guilty when they come... I mean, they've come to our place, I should be the one serving and pampering, but it's always the other way around. It works the same way when we visit them too!! Maybe this year, when I turn 30, I'll grow up!! :) It sure was a treat to have mom put the kids to bed every night (and quite early!!!), and to have dad read them books etc. Thank you!!!
I often think of this poem and wonder if it'll be true!!
Monday's child is fair of face
Tuesday's child is full of grace
Wednesday's Child is full of woe
Thursday's child has far to go
Friday's child is loving and giving
Saturday's child works hard for his living
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day,
is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.
Mia = Tuesday
Wyatt = Saturday
Natalie = Thursday
Glen = Thursday
Jessica = Wednesday
Hmm... Am I full of woe???? Maybe I just cause others woe!!! :) And I'm not really sure what Thursday is meant to mean... far to go in what??? Maybe you can enlighten me!
So far, Natalie has been an easy baby, eating and sleeping away. Hard to believe that this week she'll be 4 weeks old already. She shares a birthday with 'auntie' Michelle Gale. Maybe some year they can celebrate together!
Glen built the kids an outdoor rink in the backyard this winter and they love skating around. Mia is really quite good this year, and Wyatt is coming along. They both love being outside and I'm glad they have a dad who takes them out so willingly!
We spent Christmas with Gpa and Gma Tingley.. AKA Gma with the Red Door. It's quite a thing to think of Gpa... soon to be 88 years old (or 89??), and Gma at 83(?) cooking the full meal... well, they do it every Sunday. Amazing. I don't have the energy to do that now, much less every week. They are amazing people in their strength, their love, their compassion, and their generosity. We'll be a lost family when we lose Gpa and Gma.
I hope that you all had a great 2009. We did. It's good to look back and just be thankful. This blog wouldn't be long enough to list all I have to be thankful for, so I'll just say THANK YOU, and you can know that I'm thankful for you and your love and friendship.
