Medicentres...

are an interesting location! It's very convenient that the Rexall Place Drug Store that recently opened up on Ellerslie Road near us, has a medicentre in it. We've visited it a few times and it's clean! This morning was one of those visits. I'm quite confused though on how they really operate. Hours for today's clinic with 1 doctor are 9-4. They have reduced hours due to a shortage in doctors. So... we arrive at 8:50. Rexall opens at 8, so we walk in, take our number and wait to be called. We're patient #2 to arrive. So at 9am, we give the nurse our details, and Wyatt is told to wear a mask due to his flu like symptoms... yes, he does have them all! Cough, runny nose, fever etc. We are there however, for his ears. He's been screaming the last few nights that his ears are sick. He is quite prone to ear infections so I supposed it necessary to take him in.
At 9:15 we're escorted into a room. Not too bad... time wise. But where is the doctor? Around 9:30, I hear him patient #1's room. She says thank you and leaves... at 9:45, no doctor... like does he need a coffee break between each patient??? I'm curious... at 10 am in he comes. He's wearing a mask and a face guard!!! 1 hour to wait and we were just patient #2!!! I'm glad we weren't any further down the list!
So... #3, I can't understand a word he says, other than the fact that yes his ears are infected, he makes me feel his glands to prove how swollen they are. Then I understand strep throat. So.. he swabs me since I'm pregnant, and will call if I'm positive. I don't have a hint of a sore throat so I'm sure I'm fine. I've had it before and thought I was dieing so...!
As we're leaving, I have to sign in! So I guess technically in 1 hour he has seen 3 patients rather than just 2. That looks a bit better doesn't it???
We gather up the medicine from the pharmacist, stop for some Tim Bits and a coffee and come on home. We've missed mtg this morning.
That leaves me curious as to how Glen and Mia (who probably shouldn't have gone either) fared. Glen would be responsible for dressing Mia and doing her hair!! : - )
I'm sure he coped just fine!!!
My thoughts this morning were in Ps. 29:1-2. Speaks of Give, Give, Give... 3 times of things we need to give to God. The last verse ends with what God gives us. He has given so much in return for us giving so little. So much to be thankful for and we have no excuse to not give our best.
Enjoy your day, and I hope you don't have to visit a medicentre near you anytime soon!
