school days

It's been a few weeks since the last post, and I have promised pictures. However, I haven't had the camera out lately!!! Shucks! So since I'm usually behind the camera and not in front of it, I thought I would grace your presence of me at my finest. Here I am at my 2 jobs... the first, hard working at our first staff mtg... and McDonald's bun toaster!
This summer, 2 of our awesome students lost their father. He was the pilot of the First Air plane that crashed up North. Soooooo sad. His funeral was the day before the first day of school for us teachers. The owner of McD's is a good friend of the family and also has kids at our school. He organized this AMAZING fundraiser for the kids' trust fund. In 3 hours, we raised over $25000!!! We teacher's worked at McD's... the employee's donated their time to work as well... we sold raffle tickets to win a BBQ lunch with your teacher, and a silent auction. The turn out was incredible and it still gives me goosebumps. People were parking on the grass to get in! They are sweet kids and deserve the best.
In other news... our rough grade received it's approval so if you'd like to come shovel topsoil on Saturday, I would love you forever! xoxoxox

I LOVE the pictures of you!!! Working at McD's must have brought back memories of fast food employment when you were in high school?? One thing I love about the pictures is that you are looking "normal"!! :-) No funny faces and no tongue sticking out. Awesome job at McD's in raising so much money. It does the heart good to see what people will do in a sad situation. Love you Mom
