But today at school I felt moved to say something. So I approached the admin and mentioned the dress code of some teachers. We have a dress code for our students. The code was implemented due to having Junior High students and making male teachers uncomfortable etc. etc. and for simple modesty. I believe this should still be enforced in the elementary. No tank tops etc. One of my students came in shorts that barely covered her rear. Sigh...
So there are a few teachers. I'm not sure who they are trying to impress. The other teachers? admin? the students? their husbands? But when your skirt barely covers your rear... anyways. I decided to say something as I believe that we're role models. I think every teacher you talk to would agree that media does not portray girls how their should be. Where's the modesty? It's lacking in the media that the kids are bombarded with, it's lacking in the home life... why can't their teachers be an example?
If you can't bend over, there's a problem. You're a teacher... you should be at the students level for 90% of your day!!!! Bending, crouching etc etc.
So, I went in to the admin as a "parent" and told them I was uncomfortable with how some teachers were dressing and it wasn't the role model I wanted for my daughter. It was dutifully noted. We'll see what comes of it.
What do you think?
But then again, I think you should wear nylons to meeting too.

Love it!! Yes you like to stir the pot but in this case I'll say it's okay. Hope you see some action taken. Love your last sentence! :-) Besides being an example doesn't plain old "RESPECT" just sum it up too? Loves you!
Good luck! I used to work in an office where there was a dress code and several women were actually sent home to change ... I guess it depends whether people want to be perceived as "professional", or otherwise. That office didn't tolerate "otherwise". (Personally I loved the dress code! Like a school uniform, it made dressing easy.)
