off she goes to Kindergarten... a quick hug for Wyatt, Natalie and mom, and she's gone! Mia is so excited to finally be in school. Since she could've gone last year, and I held her back, she is more than ready. She has been so excited to go each day and loves to tell you about the rules and the things they get to do. Going to the gym, the library, using the Smart Board, and HANDS OFF POLICY have excited her! On day 2 of Kindergarten, I'm not allowed to walk her to the door... it's now good-bye in the car, she hops out and RUNS to her door! Soooo cute. Today, Glen had his EDO so he stayed home with Wyatt and Nat while I ran Mia out to school. So... what's a girl to do in Leduc by herself... So I went and visited my students and met the teacher who is replacing me. He was eager to show me what he's up to and what units he's doing etc. Then I hung out in the Kindy room, so I was a roster mom today! HA! Was just fun to watch Mia interact with the kids, see who the other kids are in her room, besides the 3 other teacher's kids that are in that room! She's just how I thought... an observer. Not overly active and doesn't initiate conversation with others but she's most definitely soaking it all up. She won't say Au revoir to her teacher, but at home... all we hear are her lil french words, so no worries on my end.
Her first day of school was precious for me. In the morning we knelt down together and as I was helping her say a lil prayer, I said that she could ask God to be with her at school, so that He could help her etc. She looks at me stunned... "Mom, that's what Mme. Gill is for!!!!" So we explained that one a bit more clear! I just realized that when you ship your kids off to school, just how much we as parents entrust our lives not just into the hands of others, but truly to leave them in God's hands, and that He will keep them and protect their little souls. As she got into the car and started humming #318 unawares, I thought, "Yup, she'll be ok."
Like a worker once said about parents who choose to homeschool... it's just a sign that you're not trusting God to keep your children. "Oh to trust Him then more fully...."
In other news, cookie orders continue to come in. I was really frustrated today and I'm not sure if it's the humidity, or maybe I've added to much water to my fondant which in turn i have to add more sugar to it... but everything's been breaking...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So I wasn't 100% satisfied with my orders this week. I guess there's bound to be these bumps along the way! A workspace in the basement of the new house is definitely becoming high priority. 2 more orders for next week. I actually find it more difficult when people are specific about what they want... I just want to be creative and try new things with a certain theme/idea in mind... it's hard to design what you think other people want etc... oh well... practice, practice.... patience, patience...
Natalie has learned to pull herself up... so down the crib went... she's growing up all too quickly.
Wyatt started his viola lessons. Man... he is such a different kid from Mia. Mia gets so sober and straight faced... my observer... doesn't want to do anything in front of you... she just wants to watch and takes it home and just does it! Wyatt... he's a PLEASER... He thinks Thomas is just the best thing ever. He's a little disappointed in his cardboard viola for now, and really wants to make NOISE... but he was eager to practice his bowing, rest position and finger song today.
Happy Week-end ya'll. Plans?
We were hoping to get to Medicine Hat for Pete Miller's funeral tomorrow... so we think of the Millers gathered there. HUGS

Great post! I'm glads i'm not the only one in the known world to (gasp) not homeschool my babies. Seem those in the blogger world are very christian and very homeschool oriented. I loved how the Worker was able to ancourage you and your choice. We love Clays school (he's in kinder) and are enjoy him watching and learning from someone different to us. Its true God will care for our children there and we can still Love and nurture and norish their souls at home. Hope Mia has a fabulous school life!!
Love the blog and the pictures. Your house is coming along nicely!!
