Another month... I don't suppose anyone reads this but that's ok.
Tonight we enjoyed an impromptu BBQ with friends. First hamburgers of the season and boy were they tasty!!! Hopefully it's the beginning of many evenings to come. We ended by singing a few hymns which is always the perfect way to end an evening.
A good month at school... can't complain with Easter and Spring Break. Seems like we hardly had a 5 day work week... I know, someone will wonder if we work at all. But trust me... we work hard when we're there :)
For example, this week we had to call Social Services. A girl in my class told me how she was crying the other night because she was hungry. Her mom slapped her across the face and made her nose bleed. It wasn't but a few weeks before her lil brother came to school with marks on his nose from where mom had slapped him too. Soooooo sad. This girl told me that she just wished her mom would quit yelling, swearing and hitting her. ugh... makes you sick to think of what these kids go through at home.
The kids who are late every day because they slept in... they had their lil sibling in bed with them... you know the dad's in jail for abuse and you think of their fears and nightmares they must have. No wonder they can't concentrate at school. Kids who you don't even touch the curriculum with... just teach them life skills.
On a brighter note... my own kids!!!!
Wyatt is truely the funniest kid I have ever known. You can watch him all day and just laugh. He thinks he's pretty funny too and knows just how to wiggle his way out of trouble.
Mia is growing up into a lil priss... she knows just how to flutter her eyelashes and say please just the right way to get what she wants.
We're raising spoiled brats, but at least they're loved!!! They get a bit of discipline here and there and I hope it's enough!!!
They both love the outdoors and cry when it's time to come in. Definitely better than being like their mom and stuck in front of a computer!!! Speaking of which... GOOD NIGHT!
