11 years ago we said I do... and all that Jazz! I don't remember the words, but I remember the feeling and that was the best feeling ever... marrying your best friend, your confident, your other half... you get the idea. We hadn't dated long, and we knew... we just knew.. this was forever. Call it innocence, young love... whatever you want. Looking back and pondering the future of our own children, I'm sure my parents were silently (thankfully) freaking out! After all, I was just a youngin. I remember Adrienne coming into my room one night at Jan and Den's... just looking at me, laughing, and saying, "Have fun figuring it all out!" I'm sure she was glad it wasn't her... I was too naive!!! Now I'm glad it's not me, and that we're settled and content. 11 years has brought lots of changes and many memories have been made. I'll never forget our 1st anniversary being down at Waterton, kayaking and just enjoying life. On the way home, which happened to be our anniversary, we stopped in at McD's and supersized our meals. Since then, it's been the joke... the tradition... This summer we were travelling on my birthday, and Glen leans over and asks, "Should we supersize it?!" Funny thing at 20... you think you're all grown up... so mature... ready to take on the world! You realize now that you weren't, but I'm glad that we feel that way. After all, if we didn't, we would lack courage to take steps. Maybe Glen was the mature one at 23!! Anyways... here we are... 3 kids later and lots of memories still being made. Today we celebrate... just not with each other!! :-) Today, Glen's accepted a new job and now he's off fishing with his good friend Darrick. I was going to take the kids to McDonald's for supper, and supersize my meal, but I guess while Glen eats his celery sandwich, we'll have supper at Dan and Carrie's cabin. Steak.. much better, eh?! So thanks, babes... you make me laugh, smile, and you still give me butterflies when you wink. You've made me a better person, a better wife, a better mother, by being you. Love you lots. Here's to another steady, faithful and amazing many years together.
Here's a picture of our first home together in Regina. 252 Gladmer Park along Broadway Avenue! Oh how I remember those hand me down couches, recovered back cushions in every bright Ikea colour possible!!! The 2x4 beds Glen made because we had no guest beds and the workers were coming! The plywood computer desk... the pantry cupboard painted bright blue and yellow!!! So many great things were builit out of 2x4's for this house!!!
