Aunt Pam met us at the nursing home where Great Gpa and Gma Johnson spent their final days. She led us through the maze of closed roads, potholes and bends, to her cozy abode on the farm. Pam was overly hospitable. It was a joy to be in her home and we are thankful for all she did for us while we were there. Sunday evening (the 10th), was a great evening with amazing food, great people, and lots of laughs. Monday we started the journey down memory lane. Well, it wasn't really memory lane for me since I have no memories of such places, but it was interesting to go through the memories with mom and her sisters, and Grandma Krapu. The Lutheran Church stands tall and here is where Great gma and gpa are buried along with their infant son. It was because of the infant's death that led gpa and gma to search for truth. Pam told us that because the baby hadn't been baptized yet, they were not allowed to bring the casket through the front gate, but had to walk around to the back and come in that way.
