is ending and not quite soon enough. 9 teaching days left and then I get to play with my own kids rather than someone else's... teach my own kids, rather than someone else's... mold my own kids, rather than someone else's... discipline my own kids, rather than someone else's... BUT most of all... love my kids a bit more, rather than everyone else's!!
One boy... he came later in the year... just before I started in November. Now here it is, only a few weeks left and he's gone again. I called him nomadic. Dad and step-mom with 3 year old and baby soon to come live here... Mom and live in boyfriend with baby live elsewhere... so he spends one year with dad, one year with mom. Isn't that horrible! He's this kid who no one seems to really want. Dad seems to get on best with him and this poor boy doesn't even seem to like his mom. He calls step-mom 'mom'. In fact, on an assignment, his real mom's name was there in an example and he crossed it out quite vehemently and wrote in his step-mom's name. Yesterday, the day I found out he was going, he was telling me about moving... he goes, "All I am to my mom is money." I about lost it right there... this kid is qutie a bit smarter than everyone thinks. He's such a neat kid. Seems like mom will be moving around a bit and now dad is moving up north too, so won't be able to see him quite as easily. Sooooooo sad.
I did appreciate his dad and how firm he was with him. Very supportive. He thanked me for being a teacher who cared and a teacher who they could actually communicate with. So that was nice. A feel gooder... i need that... it's as good as the Chai being delivered.
Speaking of which, I got another one of those... my EA brought me one yesterday morning.
Sigh... today at lunch my lil friend whose gotten sooo much better over the course of the year, decides to punch another boy repeatedly since this other boy stepped on his paper airplane (which he shouldn't have been throwing around in the first place). I suppose this is the reason why we'll be each eating lunch with our kidlets next year, rather than just having supervisor's roam the halls. If I'd been there, nothing would have happened. His lil apology letter to him mom and the boy were quite cute... I'm so so so so so so so sorry. :) Had a nice lil chat with his momma after school... :P I wish you could all meet her and then you'd have some apathy!!!
I certainly have had a needy lil bunch this year. Next year should be twice as interesting... so keep posted :) One guy who is extreme behaviour was meant to be in the division program next year but they're not sure if can go yet... no EA in my room... unless he shows up! YIKS!
Yesterday, his teacher, the VP and the secretary had to go hunting for him since he never showed up for school... his mom said he'd left a long time ago... so the search began. He was just hanging out around some apartment buildings. Then the VP had to chase and catch him and haul him to school. I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
